Manolis Anagnostakis (1925–2005) is considered to be one of the most important poets to have emerged in Greece after World War II. These posters originate from a larger project that i'm working on concerning greek poets and some of their poems.
“Because poetry it’s not a way to speak-
-it is the best WALL to hide our face”
---------------------------
"He was constantly talking with parentheses and dots
just if he was a blind man
walking in a room full of furniture”.
-------------------------------
“… there is always a revenge
a secret ambush without exit
a screw rooting-
-rooting deeper”
"Now on, I don’t shout,
now on, I don’t cogitate.
Something has stopped inside me.
I can see my figure in the mirror,
I can distinguish a mask, pale and totally strange.
I shall come one day, naked from love and hate
Obdurate and pitiless
With my own silence as a guide and companion.
Oh friend, if you don’t think that I came, once again, late,
please show me at least a road
You at least, that you know that
I’m searching for a “n o t h i n g" to believe a lot
and then to die.
